"Mommy, I'm so proud of you"
This is what Emma has been telling me lately. She's also been telling either of us, "I love you," out of the blue, as opposed to in response to us saying it. My favorite is when she says, "Mommy, I love you so much."
Deutschland
Emma's finally getting to wear her t-shirt we brought her from Germany last year. It's still a bit too big, but Daddy put it on her as pajamas last night. She's wearing it this evening because she spilled water all over her shirt and this shirt was still handy on the couch. I think it's a cool shirt, I wish they'd had one in my size.

Feeling much better
My voice still sounds like I have a cold, but I haven't had a runny nose or been sneezing today. I was much better after I took a shower around 4:00 p.m. yesterday. I made it through my meeting just fine. I was able to do a lot of shopping for work and personal needs today. I'm just so glad this happened this week and not next week.

Sick Day
Ugh, I'm at home today. My cold is much worse today. I'm at that point where my nose drips like water at random times. I couldn't face dealing with people today and having that happen. You know you're really sick when you spend most of your day in bed and you're not only not bored, but you're happy to be there. Unfortunately, like it or not, I have to go to a meeting tonight. I'm hoping the situation is a bit better by then. Wish me luck.
Poetry slam for everyone, including my Dad
But you have to listen closely.

Whine, whine, whine...
I have a summer cold. I feel so worn out and ragged. I wish I could buy some energy. I also sound like Kathleen Turner. If anyone wants to call me for phone sex today I've got the voice to pull it off.

Kidding! I'm not a phone person :)
DJ rocks my world, ya'll!
And gives me warm fuzzies at the same time. Lookee! Brach's candy corn all the way from Texas! Thank you so much! You are so thoughtful and I felt so special because you thought of me. You're the best, girl!

Perseid meteor shower
We're a fan of celestial events that can be seen with the naked eye. We've sat outside many a night watching for meteors. The sky where we live is bright with stars because there is virtually no light pollution. We set up our chaise lounges and watched for a good while last night. I would rate it at about a 4 out of 10 for the span that I was able to watch. I've seen better. After I went to bed M pulled out the DSLR and set up tripod shots for 30 second exposures. He tried about fifty times. He never did catch a meteor going by. He did get two shots of airplanes and took a picture of the most familiar constellation in the sky (if you live in the western hemisphere). Enjoy!

Ice Cream Social
This afternoon we attended an ice cream social at our church. Emma was all for ice cream. She got to sample some fresh vanilla ice cream. While the ice cream makers were on duty she played with her new ball...

While we were waiting for the potluck dinner to be assembled Emma decided that Daddy needed some sunscreen.

Afterwards we walked around town. M followed Emma and I went on my merry way taking photographs.

Finally, before we went home we took Emma for her first visit to Grandpa. She was confused about the whole situation, but we were at a loss for how to explain it so she'd understand. I was glad I had the idea. I think it meant a lot to M.
