The short term insurance packet arrived
In time. I'll be able to drop Emma from my group policy by the 15th. As of July 1 she'll be on a 90 day policy with Golden Rule, a UnitedHealthcare company. Then we'll try to add Emma and M to Anthem on individual policies. I feel like there may actually be light at the end of the tunnel.
Dinner out
This was from Saturday night, before the basketball game. This is the third ranked restaurant for us of the three in town. It's not bad, but we prefer the others. However, when you're in a bind, this is the fastest food in town. Which actually isn't saying much. Anyway, Emma got a huge kick out of the rotating stools.

This one is for Shawnie...
All size 7's. I'm particularly fond of the pair on the right. This should hold her for a good deal of the summer and then Noni's got some 8's for her for the end of the summer. We are officially good to go.

I have a confession to make...

I KNOW!!! But no one told me the damned things weigh the same as a marshmallow! I just got them today so I'm not giving any testimonials yet. And I will never wear them away from my house. I SWEAR!!!
Quality time
M had pick-up duty from Mary's today. He took Emma back to the store with him until closing. Then they came home and made a pizza together. When I got home supper was ready. After supper we went outside for some "quality time."

Watch out for that first step...

Yes, let's sit in the dirt, shall we?

Run, run, run...

Oops...

Over the troll bridge, through Daddy's legs...

Hanging around...

Alumni basketball
On Saturday evening M played in an alumni basketball game to benefit Relay for Life. He wasn't the oldest player. I think the oldest one was the actual varsity basketball coach, who is a few years older than M. Before the game he was commenting that he hoped it was all old guys so no one would play so hard. "I'm not gonna run," he commented. Ha! That whistle blew and he took off running. He was the first one out of the game and onto the bench because he said his head was so hot. He went back in several more times. He did score any baskets; he never took a shot. But he did have a good number of assists.

I wish I could have seen more of the game. When we first got to the gym Emma was enthralled, watching the women play. I would describe to her what they were doing and she followed it closely, even cheering and clapping. Then she saw her friend Caleb from Mary's. That was the end of watching basketball. All she wanted to do was follow him around. He's full year older than her so he was allowed to range farther than Emma. That created some conflict.

I'm already fighting with my 2.5 year old about running around with boys.

Mother's Day Treat for Grandma
We took Grandma out to brunch for Mother's Day today. We decided to beat the rush. In this town it's always such a thrash to go out on Mother's Day and the restaurants have a hard time keeping up with the food and service. Instead, we enjoyed a nice leisurely brunch together. Emma behaved pretty good but didn't want anything from her plate. She ate crackers for lunch.

She always likes to run around on the porch at the Inn. I took her outside while M finished his meal with his mom. Emma had a great time.

I love this little jacket on her.

The guest of honor, Grandma.
